Countryside Range ← Back to Kit Home Designs
To compliment our much sought after and very popular ‘Cottage Range’, we have developed our ‘Countryside Range’.
As the name suggests, these houses are also primarily intended for a rural setting but are more varied in size, form and style than the single storey houses in the ‘Cottage Range’.
The ‘Countryside Range’ still retains windows with a vertical emphasis and, in a majority of designs, roofs with steeper pitches. Both features in keeping with traditional rural housing and favoured by planners.
It includes large single storey contemporary designs based on a courtyard layout, as featured in the generously proportioned ‘Glen Gary’ and ‘Glen Morriston’. But, generally, is of one and a half, one and three quarter and two storey homes with 45 degree roof pitches. This form of house maximises floor space and is fast becoming the new countryside vernacular throughout much of Scotland.
Many of the ‘Countryside Range’ designs could easily be adapted to suit an urban situation. The courtyard concept being particularly suited to sites where privacy is an issue.
All designs in the ‘Countryside Range’ can be extended in length to provide more space in any room, a utility or en-suite shower (where the design does not already offer such accommodation) or maybe additional storage space. Features such as an open fire / chimney or stove / flue and an integral garage can be incorporated into any design. Also, all designs can be flipped or mirrored to provide the correct orientation.
